Green US Universities

Student activists at more than 200 US colleges lobby for the Fossil Free campaign for their universities to stop investing in oil companies (Stanford has a $17 billion endowment and Harvard has $30 billion). It’s extending to cities like Seattle that agreed to divest their municipal investment funds. Youth boycotted fast-food restaurants such as KFC over livestock conditions. The Sierra Club’s annual ranking of the greenest colleges in 2014 put the University of Califoria, Irvine at the top of the list, followed by American University, Dickinson College, Loyola University and Lewis and Clark College.
