Women Make Peace

The feminist Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström bemoaned the fact that, “From [19]92 to 2011, fewer than 4 percent of signatories of peace agreements and less than 10 percent of peace negotiators were women.”[i] However, when women are represented in peace agreements, the accords are 35% more likely to last for at least 15 years.[ii] Women are more likely to consider practical implications for ordinary people
