Women Take On Trump’s Sexism

A sexist president evoked especially large resistance from women, starting with his opponent Hilary Clinton’s campaign, carried on by Senator Elizabeth Warren, mushrooming into the million demonstrators in the Women’s March on Washington, DC. The only two Republican senators to break ranks to oppose the nomination of unqualified billionaire donor to Republicans Betsy DeVos, were Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Women participated in local demonstrations to express their discontent to their members of Congress. Representative Dave Brat told a meeting of conservatives in Virginia, “Since Obamacare and those issues have come up, the women are in my grill, no matter where they go. They come up to me: ‘When is your next town hall?’ And believe me, it is not to give positive input.”[i]
